Cupid-Worthy Ideas for Your Valentine's Day

Wildly enough, Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and I thought I'd share some of my favorite ideas on how you can spend your day, whether it's with your sweetheart or with your friends!

Look ravishing in something vintage...
Love this 1950s dress from Mother of Vintage. I'm swooning over the little heart buttons.

...or in something modern.
You can find this Maggy London fitted dress here at Nordstrom. If red is a little too bold for you, no worries. It also comes in black. Add a red lip and cinch your waist with a skinny belt for extra oomph.

Host a fabulous get-together.
Grab some of your single friends and invite them to a cocktail mixer. Read Dita's tips for hosting a glamorous party here. Don't forget to brush up on retro cocktail recipes!

Dance around to Sam Cooke.
Sam sings some of my absolute favorite love songs. Try "That's Where It's At" or the Live at the Harlem Square Club version of "Cupid." You'll wish you were at the club singing along on that night in 1963.

Bake something.
You know what they say: the fastest way to your darling's heart is through their stomach. Looking for something unique to impress them with? Try these fudgy brownie hearts with raspberry buttercream, or these red velvet sugar cookie bars with cream cheese frosting. Yum.

Indulge in a classic love story.
Whether or not you've found your true love, you can still enjoy a nostalgic film that'll set your heart aflutter. Casablanca is a 1942 classic which is sure to send you gazing into the starry eyes of your date - or just Humphrey Bogart's.

Give yourself a glamour treatment.

Sometimes I get so caught up in planning for my honey, that I forget to take care of myself too! After all, the most important person you can love is yourself. Try this DIY brown sugar scrub for the most kissable lips, and don't forget to give yourself a half-moon manicure (I use this DIY trick every time).

I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day! Matt and I plan to dress up and go to our favorite restaurant, and maybe head out to the local jazz club after. What do you have planned for your special day? XOXO
